Odoo (OpenERP) Construction Management

ERP for Engineering and Construction

Lets explore odoo in relation with construction industry as we have developed several modules specifically for construction business vertical with time and real time projects for our valued customers.

Construction companies who all have developers, Builders, infrastructure developers, contractors, subcontractors and so on, can use our industry specific product to enhance their profitability.

Apagen had made an effort to go ahead and put in all the standard construction steps in a way that suits into project management as well as construction project management related data where in we had created certain set of tasks, bill of quantities, and related information which can go ahead and  make it easy for a construction person or company to use system.

Here we start with the project template where in a list of steps that is required to generate a construction project is prerecorded. So, Once you have a template you can go ahead and select “new project based on template”. Now with already created templates we will inherit predefined task. The moment we have created a project, we can see and have an eye over total cost and related information like allocated team, related sales order, related purchase order, project tasks, inventory usage, project deliveries, project stages, project manager, estimated project cost, markup cost, customer details and work packages.

We also Have BOQ (Bill Of Quantities) which helps us to manage raw material purchase and storage with proper calculation of cost like Material Cost, Sub-Contract Cost, Labor Cost, Equipment Cost, Work Package cost, estimated cost, markup cost. It works on the concept of 4 Ms i.e. Men, Money, Material, Machine.

We also have an optional way of using work breakdown structure to go ahead and create work packages. what is the approach to suit in your project management procedures.

Project Management and BOQ is tightly integrated with accounts, purchase, HR and warehouse to make it more efficient in a way to reducing processing speed.

With the help of Master forms we can create raw material as asset formation with proper inputs like, Asset Category, Purchase Date, reference, company, parent Asset(if any) and some general informations like gross value, computation method, time method, prorata temporis, salvage value, residual value, partner, number of depreciations and number of months in a period.

The beauty of our odoo system is, we are using Organizational Breakdown Structure (OBS). Means like we assign resources to the project, our system automatically calculate salaries of resources as per their respective designations. and in turn this will be used as expenses of project. By this way we are linking our OBS System with project Management.

Our odoo system also helps in bid analysis and taking the best price and vendor for our purchase.
